About

Welcome to the Servants’ Journal.  This blog is managed by two Christian servants of our Lord Jesus Christ. Our goal is to first and foremost to glorify Jesus Christ, who has redeemed us and called us to serve.  Additionally we desire to edify, encourage, and to ‘provoke unto good works’ our Christian brothers and sisters.  We hope and pray too that if someone stops by who does not know the Lord Jesus as his or her savior and Lord, that they will be changed by the Holy Spirit through the sharing of the truth of His word.

A Fellow Servant

My name is Gary Snow and I am a servant of the Lord called to preach and teach His word to His church and the gospel of reconciliation to the lost in this world.  On this blog I use the pen name ‘A Fellow Servant”.  Paul the apostle would often introduce himself with that title to churches in his epistles.  I believe all who are truly a part of the body of Christ are fellow servants in Christ Jesus.  I also believe we live in a unique and excited time in which we are seeing prophecy being fulfilled and now more than ever I believe it is imperative that true Christians be prepared for the return of our Savior and Lord Jesus.  My burden is for the church spread out across several denominations and her need to be faithful in these last days.  I am concerned for those who sit on pews each week claiming to know, love, and serve our Lord but who don’t seem to have a passion or desire for Him.  I will preach and teach the word of God anywhere the Lord Jesus opens the door and my heart’s desire is to remind God’s people of the Apostle Paul’s admonition to the Roman church, “And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed.” (Romans 13:11)

This blog project began back in September 2012 under the name ‘Think on These Things’, which comes from Philippians 4:8 “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.”   Since its beginning the Lord has been growing the scope of the blog and early in 2013 I was blessed when the Lord sent a dear brother my way who uses the pen name ‘A Servant’.  He has been blessed by the Lord with the gift of writing and has a humble heart for serving the Lord and others.  I count it a privilege to know him and serve with him in this ministry.

My fellow contributor, ‘A Servant’, and I pray that this blog will be informative and a blessing to all who read.  It is intended that ‘Servants’ Journal’ will inspire fellow Christians to do more for the Lord and cause you to hunger for the things of God.  We recently changed the blog’s title to Servants’ Journal because as our Lord Jesus said, “And whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.”  And as Paul the apostle said to the Philippian believer’s, “Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:”  Our desire is to be more like Christ, especially in the area of service and to encourage other believers in the same.

A Servant

Thank you for stopping by.  We are honored by your visit.  Our Goal: To share the glorious gospel of Jesus Christ and to create bonds of friendship with people around the world.  God is worthy to be praised!  What we believe: God the Father sent God the Son to pay our sin debt.  By trusting in Him we can be forgiven.  We are saved unto good works, not by works.

I refer to myself as “A Servant” hoping to focus the attention where it belongs, on Jesus Christ.  My Personal Goal: I long for the day to hear “Well done thou good and faithful servant”.  I also use “Until Night” in my posts.  That is taken from John 9:4  I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.

While God grants me life I will continue to proclaim the gospel of peace.

Until Night,

A Servant

Your passion is the same as mine. You hit the nail on the head. I fear for those who think they’re saved but do not even know our Savior. It hurts or burdens me to know they are missing out. I will be praying for your ministry. Continually seeking Him, Sharon

Amen and amen. This is my desire as well. My hope is to equip the saints so they can fulfill the ministry God has for each one…and to lead them to a place where they can hear from the Lord for themselves. Too many get “second-hand” messages.

Thanks for following Lessons by Heart. It’s always fun to meet brothers and sisters in Christ. What a reunion we’ll have when we get to heaven, eh?

May the Lord richly bless your ministry here and grant a great harvest for your labor of love.

    In Christ,

Thank you Gary for joining up with us and as you have shared above, the time is short, many are living fleshy lives and yet claim to believe in Jesus, the same as I did for many years and yes I knew of Jesus but I didn’t know Him in my heart as I do now.

Do we judge others, we never judge critically their weaknesses and shortcomings or their Eternal Destiny, we don’t know their heart , they may come to repentance on their deathbed from good seeds that have been planted. But if we are to share God’s Truth or for those too who “Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine, we need to judge their walk and it will be shown by their actions and words but not meaning are they doing enough works but why they do them, for who and how and yes Love is always to be our measuring Rod.

Christian Love from both of us – Anne

Hi Garry it seems I was mistaken you didn’t join up with us but liked our introduction Post, so thank you for this and also for now joining up with us.

Thank you also for clarifying more clearly who you both are and yes as God’s friends, we are to have a servant’s heart as you both have shown.

    Blessings – Anne

This is a super “bio.” What’s more, it’s a super mission. We are the “salt of the earth,” but we need to get out and shake that “salt” over a lost and dying world!

I like the theme here, and wish you great success. Thank you for visiting my site as well…

Just stumbled across your blog – thanks for exploring God’s word for all to see! I love the idea of calling yourself “servant” and “fellow Servant”. Pride is an issue for me, so that’s something I’m thinking about taking on board!

    God Bless!

Thanks for dropping by. Christ is worthy of our best and we want to please Him and serve our fellow brethren. Pride is a battle all of us have to deal with daily. The sin that turned angels to devils and was listed as the first of Sodom’s sins (Ezekiel 16:49) is the same sin that causes us to sometimes think our way is better than His. But as Paul said, I mortify my flesh daily. 🙂
